Whether you’re looking to spend a day on the beach, learn about the military, or something in between, you can always find something to do near Ft. Liberty. Here’s just a few highlights for you to start planning your next long weekend:

Try Different Brews and Bites at Downtown Fayetteville’s Food Truck Park

Fayetteville’s food truck park is located in downtown Fayetteville, and it’s open on Thursdays through Sundays. The park has a wide variety of food trucks from all over the state. You can choose from everything from barbecue to pizza and more!

The food is served on a first come, first serve basis so you may want to get there early if you’re planning on eating something delicious.

Visit the Airborne & Special Operations Museum

The Airborne & Special Operations Museum is located in Pope Field, just north of Fayetteville. It’s open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission costs $12 for adults; free for kids under 12 years old.

The museum features interactive displays that explain how airborne troops were trained and equipped, as well as stories about famous airmen like General James Doolittle, who led the first U.S.-led raid against Japan during World War II (Doolittle Field). There’s also a large collection of planes used by the United States military throughout history—including those built overseas before being shipped back home so they could be repaired or modified by American engineers! If you’re interested in learning more about these aircrafts’ capabilities or history at Ft Bragg/Fayetteville then give them a visit next time you’re nearby!

Visit the Crown Center for an event or show

The Crown Center is a multi-use complex with a variety of entertainment options. The facility hosts concerts, sporting events and trade shows as well as serving as the home for the Fayetteville SwampDogs minor league baseball team.

The Crown Center has many more offerings than just this one venue though! You can also visit their aquarium if you’re into that kind of thing (we don’t recommend it). They also have plenty of restaurants on site so if you want some food while visiting Ft. Bragg then this would be a good place to stop by!

Carvers Creek State Park is a popular spot for camping, swimming and fishing. The park also offers canoeing and kayaking on the Cape Fear River, which runs through the park. The nature trails here are great for hiking or just taking in nature. You can also rent canoes to explore the river if you don’t have your own boat available.

The picnic shelters are open year round and offer a great outdoor space for family get-togethers or group outings!

Watch a minor league baseball game at J.P. Riddle Stadium

A minor league baseball game is a fun family activity. It’s also a great way to get kids interested in sports, learn about teamwork and sportsmanship, and have some old-fashioned fun.

The games are usually inexpensive (usually less than $10 per ticket) and there are many activities for kids to do between innings—like meet players or cheerleaders, play catch on the field or with one of the mascots who attends every game—so you’ll never have time to feel bored!
